Further investigation
Records of other plane crashes, and particularly the
accompanying SAR missions in the
mountains of the north east Arabian peninsula.
a) Gulf Aviation DC3, VT-DGS 10.07.60, Bahrain - Doha - Sharjah. Leased
from Kalinga Airways, and also lost without trace. Was overdue at Sharjah
in a sand storm. Believed to have over flown its destination due to tail
winds and hit high
ground or lost over the Persian Gulf. (29) (It is
the loss of this aircraft -also classified secret- that may have already
led to the secret discovery of "Hannibal" and its
contents (6))
b) Sterling Airways Flight NB296 Caravelle, OY-STL. 14.03.72, Colombo - Dubai. Hit a
mountain near Fujairah. Believed to have descended too early on night approach
to Dubai during a thunderstorm.(46)
Large scale aerial photography of the region. 1940 to
present. Assuming the aircraft has still not been located this is likely
to have been done by authorities before now. Particularly since the advent
of highly detailed satellite imagery. Satellite
photo of route 1 / 2 (7),(33)
(‘Google Earth’ offers some insights to the topography.)
What were Imperial Airways maintenance procedures
generally like?
An in depth study of the flight times and radio logs. There are a
number of inconsistencies in the reported times, within the official
record and two other sequences available for study.
Study of British and Allied policy in the region and the far
east. (How they altered and when). East of Suez policies of the late1960's.
It has been suggested that geographic locations were
deliberately transposed to mislead. What evidence is there in this case?
